Overview: PT-141 is the research name for bremelanotide, a synthetic peptide and melanocortin receptor agonist investigated for its effects on sexual function. How It Works

Bremelanotide acts centrally on melanocortin receptors in the brain—especially the MC4R receptor subtype—to influence pathways that regulate sexual desire and arousal.

Onset of Action

Effects generally begin within ~45 minutes of administration, with peak concentrations around 1 hour. Both desired effects and side effects typically occur shortly after dosing and are usually transient.
